On Yamaha outboards, “CV” doesn’t change the horsepower — it’s just part of the model code that helps identify the exact variant of the 70 HP motor.
The 2000 Yamaha 70HP came in a few different versions — things like shaft length, tilt/trim setup, starting system, and market region play into those letters in the model code. So CV is basically Yamaha’s internal designation so you get the right parts, specs, and service procedures for your exact engine.
If you can shoot us the full model code from the ID plate (example: 70TLRX, 70CVC, etc.), we can match it up properly and confirm everything — including making sure this manual is the perfect fit for your motor ✌🏻
