Alright, if that Samsung ain’t dropping ice, here’s the stuff I’d check:
- Make sure the ice maker’s actually turned on. Sounds dumb, but happens all the time.
- Check if water’s even getting to it. If the tray is bone dry → water line’s blocked, kinked, or frozen.
- Pop the filter out and back in. Old or cheap filters mess these up quick.
- Freezer temp needs to be good and cold. If it’s kinda warm? Yeah, no ice.
- That little fill tube going into the tray — they love freezing shut. Quick blast with a hair dryer usually wakes it up.
Now, if the tray is filling but nothing dumps out, the ice maker motor’s probably given up. Or the bin isn’t sitting right so the fridge thinks it’s missing. These Samsungs are picky like that.
If none of the easy stuff gets it going, that’s when you want to look at the service manual — it’s got the tests so you can see whether the ice maker or the water valve is the one acting up.
