Yeah, on those Thomas 25G / 25GT mini loaders, the battery is buried and annoying to reach. But you can still jump or charge it without physically pulling the battery out.
What you do is:
- Find the main battery cables up front — Follow the big positive cable that goes to the starter. You can clamp your positive jumper right to the starter solenoid stud — same exact connection as the battery.
- Ground it anywhere solid — For the negative jumper, just clamp onto a clean metal spot on the frame or engine block. No need to reach the battery terminal for the negative side.
- Let it charge or jump as usual — Once connected:
-
- If you’re charging, just give it time
- If you’re jumping, give the donor machine a little rev before cranking the loader
Watch out, though — don’t let the cables hit anything else metallic around that starter. That post is hot all the time.
Many try to fight the battery cover or remove panels — honestly, hooking to the starter + frame ground is the quickest way to get it going.
Good luck!
