Alright, so VW likes to give the passenger seat a few manual levers that look kinda similar, so it gets confusing. On most Tiguans, the front passenger seat has three handles on the side/front:
- Big bar underneath the front → slides the seat forward/back. Just lift it up and push or pull the whole seat.
- Long lever on the lower side → adjusts the seat height. Pump it up to raise, push down to lower.
- Smaller round-ish or angled lever higher up → tilts the seatback. Pull it and lean back/forward to adjust the backrest angle.
So basically:
- Bar underneath = move the seat forward/back.
- Lower side lever = raise/lower the seat.
- Upper lever = recline the backrest.
If yours has lumbar support, that’ll be a separate knob toward the back of the seat — turn it to make the lower back area firmer or softer.
The owners manual should cover this in detail with clear images. Perhaps if you could give us your Tiguan's model year, we'll be able to assist you further.
