To verify the engine number on a Honda Accord, here's what you do:
- Pop the hood and look down at the engine block, usually on the front lower part of the engine, near where it meets the transmission.
- The engine number is stamped into the metal — not on a sticker. It’ll look something like “K24A2” or “R20A1,” followed by a 7-digit serial number.
- If you can’t see it easily, try shining a flashlight down the front passenger side of the engine — sometimes it's just below the exhaust manifold or near the timing chain area.
- You can also cross-check it with the number printed on your registration papers or title, just to be sure they match.
It might be a bit greasy or hard to spot depending on how dirty the engine is, but it’s there.
