If the engine’s cranking but not starting and your dash lights, hazards, and radio aren’t working, you’ve probably got an electrical issue, not just a fuel or spark problem.
Here’s what I’d check first:
- Main fuses — Look in the fuse box under the hood. Check the big fuses labeled AM1, AM2, or EFI. If one of those is blown, it’ll kill power to the ignition, dash, and ECU.
- Battery terminals — Make sure they’re clean and tight. A loose or corroded ground can cause all sorts of weird no-power issues.
- Ignition switch — If the switch is faulty or not sending power to the accessory circuit, you’ll get no dash lights or radio, and possibly no ECU signal.
- Ground connections — Check the ground strap from the engine to the body and the negative terminal to the chassis.
Since it's cranking, you’ve got starter power — but the other systems not working means something upstream (main power or ignition circuit) isn’t feeding the rest of the car.
But of course, that's just the general idea of it. The service manual specific to your model can help you point out the issue here in a jiffy. It contains troubleshooting charts, wiring diagrams, and step-by-step repair instruction to make sure you find the culprit and are able to fix it.
