If your Parsun 60HP is bogging down and dropping to idle when you throttle up, it’s probably a fuel or spark issue. That’s usually where the trouble is.
Here’s what I’d start checking:
- Primer bulb — squeeze it while it’s running. If it helps, fuel pump might be weak or you’ve got a restriction somewhere.
- Fuel lines — make sure there’s no cracks or loose clamps. Even a little air leak can mess it up.
- Fuel filter — pull it off and check for water or crap in there.
- Tank vent — make sure it’s open. Closed vent = vacuum lock.
- Spark plugs — yank ’em and take a look. Fouled or uneven? Could be weak spark on one cylinder.
- Coil wires and grounds — give everything a once-over. Doesn’t take much to knock out power under load.
- If it’s EFI — maybe a sensor’s acting up (like throttle or temp), but only if fuel and spark check out.
Also, check the tell-tale — if it’s not peeing right, motor might be going into limp mode from overheating.
Of course, there's not much troubleshooting advice we can give you, given the limited information. But the service manual can help you resolve spark issues in a jiffy with its step-by-step instructions, clear images, and exploded-view illustrations.
