The key difference between a repair manual and an Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) is what each tool is designed to do.
A Repair Manual is your "how-to" guide. It's designed to walk you through the actual maintenance and repair work, providing the step-by-step instructions, torque specs, diagnostic procedures, and wiring diagrams needed to get the job done.
An Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC), on the other hand, is your "what-to-get" guide. Its entire purpose is to help you find the precise OEM part number for your specific vehicle, often by using your VIN. It provides the exploded-view diagrams to identify every single part, but it won't tell you how to install it.
To put it simply: you use the EPC to find the right part number, and you use the repair manual to replace it correctly. They're two essential but separate tools for two different parts of the same job.
Hope that helps clear things up!
