So your L320 Sport is cranking but not starting, and you’ve got oil leaking around the pan or filter? Classic Range Rover stuff.
For the no-start, if it’s turning over but not firing, it’s probably:
- No fuel
- No spark
- Or something like a crank sensor or immobilizer messing with it
Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? That’ll tell you a lot right away. Also, try locking and unlocking the car with the fob. Sometimes these Rovers lock out the system if the battery went flat or got replaced.
Could also be something like the crank position sensor — those fail and you’ll get crank-no-start all day.
For a complete troubleshooting guide that will tell you the problem right away, we recommend you get the manual, though. It contains every troubleshooting chart and wiring diagram provided by the manufacturer, including step-by-step instructions, clear images, and exploded-view illustrations.
