That's a tricky one to pin down for sure without a bit more information, as there are a few possibilities depending on exactly which "filter" you're referring to. Based on my experience with these Muranos, it's almost certainly one of two things:
1. If "the filter" is the Cabin Air Filter (behind the glove box):
The hose located underneath the passenger side firewall in that area is most likely the A/C Evaporator Drain Hose. Its only job is to drain harmless water condensation from the air conditioning system, which is why you might see a puddle of water under your car after running the A/C on a hot day. This is the most common hose that people ask about.
2. If "the filter" is the Engine Oil Filter (on the passenger side of the engine):
If you're looking near the oil filter, you could be seeing a couple of different things. The most likely candidates are the CVT Cooler Lines, which are a pair of hoses that carry transmission fluid to and from the radiator to be cooled. It could also be one of the **Heater Core Hoses**, which are a bit thicker and carry hot engine coolant to the heater inside the car.
The best way to be certain is to tell us a bit more about the hose—is it rubber or metal? Is there any fluid leaking from it? Even better, if you can snap a quick photo with your phone, that would be a huge help.
