If your Korando turbo diesel’s blowin’ white smoke and feels gutless when you hit the throttle, that's not normal.
White smoke like that usually means it’s burning coolant — either a blown head gasket, cracked head, or worst case, a crack in the block. Especially if you’re also low on coolant or the temp gauge is acting up.
Losing power at the same time? Makes sense — if coolant’s gettin’ into the cylinders, it messes with the combustion. Turbo’s not gonna spool right, and you’ll feel it bog out when you try to accelerate.
Here’s what I’d check:
- Pop the cap and see if your coolant’s low or bubbling
- Look at the oil dipstick — if it’s milky or frothy, that’s coolant mixin’ with oil
- If you got a buddy with a compression tester, do a quick check — might show which cylinder’s leaking
Could also be injector-related, but with white smoke and power loss, I'd bet coolant's sneakin’ in somewhere. The manual is really good at resolving these kinds of things, so I recommend grabbing one for deeper understanding of what's going on.
Perhaps if you could let us know more details about your Korando (e.g. model year, engine, etc.), we'll be happy to assist you further.
