On the 2015 Sonata, "YF/I" is the code for the sixth-gen Sonata, roughly covering 2010–2014 models. Meanwhile, the "LF" refers to the seventh-gen Sonata, which launched for 2015 onward. It's a totally different platform, new styling, updated drivetrain — basically a fresh car under the same name.
