When an AFS light flashing on your ES350, that’s the adaptive headlight system throwing a tantrum. Usually pops up when something’s off with the leveling system or one of the sensors gets confused.
If everything’s working fine and you just wanna shut the xxxx light off, here’s what you can try:
- Turn the car off
- Make sure your headlight switch is off too
- Start it back up
- If you’ve got an AFS OFF button, press and hold it for a few seconds
Sometimes that’ll reset it if it’s just a glitch. But if it keeps flashing, odds are it’s not happy with something — maybe the steering angle sensor, or one of those height sensors near the suspension. Seen a few go bad, or just get knocked loose.
If you've got a scan tool that can read Lexus codes, that'll tell you what it’s mad about. Better yet, this service manual got the whole rundown with diagrams if you wanna chase it down properly, including step-by-step instructions, clear images, and exploded-view illustrations.
