Yeah, that’s a weird one, but I’ve seen it before on these Town & Countrys. When the starter keeps cranking after you let go of the key, it’s usually one of two things:
- The starter relay in the fuse box is sticking. You can pop the hood, swap it with another relay (like the horn relay), and see if the problem goes away.
- Or the ignition switch module (they call it the WIN module on these vans) is hanging up and not telling the relay to shut off.
It’s not usually the starter itself — if it stops the second you cycle the key off, it’s more likely electrical. Fortunately, this manual’s got the wiring diagram and relay locations so you can trace it out and narrow it down.
