For the XF (X250), the side trim panels at each end of the dash are pretty straightforward once you know the trick, but they can feel tight the first time you go at them. Here’s the basic approach:
-
Open the doors fully. Those side panels are only accessible with the doors open, since they tuck in against the A-pillar trim.
-
Take a trim tool (plastic pry tool is best so you don’t gouge anything) and work it into the gap at the bottom edge of the side panel. Don’t yank it straight out—these panels are clipped in with spring clips.
-
Once the bottom edge pops free, slide your hand or tool upward and pop the rest of the clips. There are usually 2–3 clips running vertically along the edge. A gentle but firm pull is what does it.
-
Disconnect anything behind (if fitted). Some XF trims had little courtesy lights or sensors built into those panels. If yours does, just unplug the connector before pulling the panel completely away.
-
When reassembling, line up the clips and give it a firm push — should snap right back into place.
That's pretty much it! Nothing complicated — just those tight Jaguar clips that need a bit of confidence.
Of course, if you want to make sure where the clips are and follow the step-by-step procedure for panel removals, this manual will help you with that. It has the schematics and exploded-view illustrations so you can nail this properly.
