On the 2006 Tiburon GLS, the right rear ABS sensor sits at the wheel hub, with a wire running along the suspension arm to a connector up near the body. To swap it out, you’ll need to get the car safely in the air, wheel off, and then trace that wire to its plug. Unclip it, take note of how it’s routed, and then remove the small retaining bolt holding the sensor in place.
They can sometimes be stuck from corrosion, so don’t be surprised if it takes a bit of wiggling to free it — just avoid prying xxxx the sensor itself or you risk breaking it in the housing. Once it’s out, clean the mounting surface, slide the new one in, secure it, and route the wire exactly as it was before. Plug it back in, refit the wheel, and torque the lugs.
After that, take it for a short drive. If the sensor was the issue, the ABS light should clear once the system sees a good signal from all four wheels. And that's pretty much it!
Of course, if you'd like a more detailed procedure, I recommend grabbing this 2006 Hyundai Tiburon OEM Service & Repair Manual, which contains the manufacturer's procedure to replace the ABS sensors, along with torque specs, step-by-step instructions, clear images, and exploded-view illustrations.
Good luck!
