On the CLK, the rear quarter windows are tied into the convertible top control system — so if the right-hand rear window drops with the roof but won’t come back up, it’s usually one of three things:
- Window switch/module issue – The top control module sends the signal to raise the quarter windows after the roof closes. A bad relay or module fault can stop that signal.
- Window regulator or motor problem – If the motor’s weak or the regulator is jammed, it’ll drop under gravity but won’t have the power to come back up.
- Wiring or sensor fault – Broken wires in the harness between the body and the trunk lid/roof frame, or a faulty limit switch, can stop the window-up command.
You could try raising the quarter window using the main window switch after the roof is closed. If it works, the motor/regulator is fine and the issue is in the roof control logic. If it doesn’t move at all, suspect motor/regulator or wiring.
Fortunately, the service manual will walk you through checking the roof control sequence, testing the window motor circuit, and tracing any wiring breaks. It has all the guide you need to properly troubleshoot and fix this issue.
