To access the internal blower motor on a 2017 Honda CR-V, you'll typically need to go in through the passenger-side footwell. Here's a simplified overview of the process:
-
Disconnect the battery – Always a good idea before working around electrical components.
-
Remove the glove box – Open it, push in the sides to release the stops, and let it hang down or remove it fully.
-
Locate the blower motor – It's directly behind the glove box, mounted to the HVAC housing.
-
Unplug the blower motor connector and remove the mounting screws (usually three).
-
Pull the blower motor out of its housing.
If you’re just replacing the blower or cleaning it, this is as far as you need to go. Reinstall in reverse order.
In case you need a more detailed guide, the manual will have diagrams and step-by-step photos to walk you through it more thoroughly.
