On most Ram 1500 models (especially from around 2004 and newer) the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump module inside the gas tank and is not serviceable separately. There typically isn’t a replaceable inline fuel filter located outside the tank.
However, older models (like early 2000s or before) sometimes had a frame-mounted filter along the driver’s side frame rail, near the transmission or just before the rear axle. If yours has one, it’ll be a small metal canister with fuel lines attached on both ends.
To be sure:
-
Check along the frame rail under the driver’s side
-
If nothing is visible, your model likely has a non-serviceable in-tank filter
In the case your Ram has one, the manual often shows its exact location. Perhaps if you can tell us more details about your model (e.g., model year, engine, et.), we'll be able to point you in the right direction.
