Do you mean the rear heater assembly? If so, yes — the manual does cover it. There's a cable-actuated rear water valve mentioned, along with the rear expansion valve, blower motor, and mode control details. All of that is included in the rear HVAC section of the manual.
However, if you're referring to the front A/C-heater system, then no. As far as I can tell, the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 van doesn't use a valve like older or more complex systems might. The front system is a blend-air type, meaning it regulates temperature by mixing warm and cool air through blend doors. An electric blend-air door motor controls the door position, and there’s no dedicated valve to block or allow coolant flow like in the rear setup.
That said, whether it’s the front or rear system, the manual gives you all the diagrams and service procedures you’ll need to understand what’s there and how it’s supposed to work. Definitely worth checking before trying to modify or restore anything.
