Here’s how you reset the XF service light without any fancy tools:

Hop in, press the start button once — don’t start the engine, just get the dash lit up.

Now mash down the gas and brake pedals at the same time — all the way.

Keep ‘em held down for, like, 15–20 seconds.

If it works, the service message should disappear or say it’s been reset.

Let go of the pedals, turn it off, and you’re good to go.
If it doesn’t work, make sure the doors are shut and you didn’t accidentally start the engine. Some XFs are a bit picky — worst case, you might need a scan tool. But most of the time, this trick does the job ✌🏻
