So your RAV4’s giving you the click-click-no-start routine, even after tossing in a new battery?
If it’s clicking, that usually means the starter solenoid’s trying, but the motor ain't spinning. First thing I’d check — starter’s probably on its way out. Real common on Toyotas, especially if it’s got some age on it.
Also, don’t overlook the battery cables. Just ‘cause they look tight doesn’t mean they’re clean. Could be corrosion on the terminals or a bad ground somewhere that's robbing power when you crank.
If that doesn’t help, could be the starter relay, ignition switch, or even the neutral safety switch acting up. Try starting it in neutral just for kicks — I’ve had that work more than once.
In any case, it's hard to troubleshoot a problem without much information about your model (i.e. engine type, model year, etc.). The service manual should have the repair procedure for these kind of issues, though.
