If the groove on the presser foot isn't lining up with the needle, it’s likely that the foot is slightly off-center or the needle bar needs a minor tweak.
Here’s what you can try:
-
Double-check the presser foot itself – make sure it’s seated properly and snapped in all the way. Sometimes it looks locked in but is just a tad off.
-
If it’s still crooked, raise the presser foot and loosen the small xxxx that holds the foot holder (that vertical bar the foot attaches to). With that xxxx loosened slightly, you can gently nudge the foot left or right to center it under the needle. Then retighten.
-
If the foot looks fine but the needle isn’t centered when stitching, the needle bar might have shifted slightly or you could be using a zigzag foot in straight-stitch mode — just make sure you’ve got the right foot on for the stitch you’re using.
If none of that works, you may need to have the needle bar realigned, but that’s a little more involved. Feel free to reach out to us with more details on your machine so we can assist you further.
