On the 2014 GL63 AMG with the 5.5L biturbo V8 (M157 engine), both the throttle body and mass air flow (MAF) sensors are tucked in pretty tight, but here’s where you’ll find them:
-
The MAF sensors are located just downstream of the air filter boxes — one on each side, since it's a twin-turbo setup with two intake paths. Look for small rectangular sensors plugged into the intake tubes leading to the turbos.
-
The throttle body sits just before the intake manifold, after the charge air coolers (intercoolers). You’ll have to look down between the engine’s V — it’s mounted centrally and has a motor/connector on the side.
That said, this repair manual should have diagrams showing exact placement and how to remove them properly (which helps a lot, since space is tight and the AMG trim doesn’t leave much wiggle room under the hood).
