When you’re getting all those lights at once (Check ABS, Check 4x4 System, Check Braking System, plus that red “BRAKE” warning), it usually points to either a shared sensor issue, a faulty ABS module, or a problem with low brake fluid or hydraulic pressure.
First thing I’d check is the brake fluid level. If it’s low, top it off and see if the lights clear. Low fluid can set off a chain reaction of warning lights, especially in Toyotas.
Next, scan it with a decent OBD2 scanner that can read ABS and 4WD codes (not just engine ones). A bad wheel speed sensor, yaw rate sensor, or even a blown fuse to the ABS system can trigger all three systems to throw warnings, since they’re interconnected.
Could be something as simple as a dirty or damaged ABS wheel speed sensor or connector, especially if you’ve been driving through rough weather or muddy roads.
Luckily, this 2007 RAV4 repair manual you’ve got should walk you through pinpoint testing for ABS sensors and wiring checks — super helpful once you have the code.
