No, this is not exactly normal — the 2012 Jaguar XF does have the function of automatically raising the windows when the car is locked using the remote control (the "global closing" function). However, there are a few things to check:
- Not all markets have this function enabled by default — in some countries, the function is disabled for safety reasons.
- It may be disabled in the comfort module (BCM) — you need a diagnostic scanner to activate it.
- Some versions only work if you hold the lock button on the remote control for a few seconds, not just press it once.
- If the car has had its battery disconnected, it is sometimes necessary to reprogram the windows using the reset procedure (raise and hold the button for a few seconds with the window completely closed).
- If it still does not work, there may be a problem with the window module or the remote control.
