Not directly, no. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality like some other EVs (such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 or Kia EV6), so there’s no built-in AC outlet or high-voltage inverter to power external devices.
The available power sources in the vehicle are:
- Standard 12V accessory sockets, with a combined limit of 120 watts
- USB ports for charging small electronics like phones or tablets
If you’re trying to power something that actually draws 220 watts — like a small shop vac, portable air compressor, power tool, or mini heater — that’s well above what the car’s outlets can handle. Trying to do this through a 12V socket would likely blow a fuse or overload the circuit.
If it’s just a laptop or phone charger, you’re fine — those typically draw under 100W and can be handled by the 12V or USB outlets without issue.
But for anything around 220W, you’d need to:
- Use a high-quality inverter (300W+) wired directly to the 12V battery, with proper fusing
- Or go with a portable power station that can handle that kind of load independently
It’s not impossible, but it’s definitely not plug-and-play. If there’s a clean solution out there, it’s gonna take some digging (and probably some custom work).
