On the 2012 Buick Verano, the brake light circuit is powered and controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM) — there isn’t a standalone fuse labeled specifically for “brake lights.”
That said, the BCM is protected by several fuses located in the instrument panel fuse block on the driver side. In particular, we recommend checking:
- Fuse #2, #3, and #23 — All 20A fuses labeled for the Body Control Module
- Fuse #6 — Ignition/Electronic Key System, which also links into brake lamp logic
From the wiring diagram, we can confirm the BCM directly sends power to the tail/stop lamps via the white/yellow (WH/YE) circuit. So if your brake lights aren’t working, these fuses are the first thing to check — but don’t overlook the brake pedal switch or connector damage along the circuit either.
If you want full wiring diagrams, fuse layouts, and step-by-step diagnostics, this manual has you covered. It includes all procedures for fuse tracing, BCM diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting — everything you need to get to the bottom of the issue.
