Ah, totally understand your confusion here.
The 2004 Kawasaki Prairie 700 (KVF700) and the Suzuki LT-V700F Twin Peaks are basically the same ATV under different badges, built as part of a short-lived joint venture between Kawasaki and Suzuki. The core engine, frame, drivetrain, and most components are shared — differences are mostly cosmetic like plastics, decals, and paint.
To tell which one you’ve got:
-
Check the VIN plate (usually on the frame near the front left lower A-arm or steering column).
-
If it starts with JKAVF or JKBVF, it’s a Kawasaki.
-
If it starts with JS1, that’s Suzuki.
-
-
Also, look at the engine cover or airbox — the branding is often stamped there.
Since your machine is labeled a Prairie 700 and it’s from 2004, odds are very high it’s the KVF700, which means the manual we offer will cover it properly. And honestly, even if it’s the Suzuki-branded version, this OEM manual will still help with nearly every mechanical or electrical repair, as both machines are nearly identical underneath 👍🏻
