Yep! This manual is BMW’s official ISTA+ diagnostic and repair software — the exact same system used by dealerships and certified shops. So there isn’t really anything “more detailed” than this, because ISTA+ is the factory tool. It contains everything the manufacturer released, including diagnostics, repair procedures, test plans, component locations, wiring diagrams, and detailed subsystem breakdowns — HVAC included.
Aftermarket publishers (like Haynes or Chilton) typically only cover the basics and general procedures. They don’t have access to the proprietary data that BMW includes in ISTA. So if what you're looking for is a thorough breakdown of the heating system, including diagnostics and repair guides, this is as good as it gets.
