That said, there are internal and electronic differences between the two (especially in displacement, turbocharging, and ECU controls), so if you're doing anything deeper (like timing adjustments, injector setup, or internal rebuilds) it's best to reference the exact manual for the D2868.
So in short: yes, it’ll help for a lot of things, but for precision work, you’ll want the right one for your engine.
