Great question — and one that comes up fairly often with Coronado gliders.
This manual was originally written for the standard Freightliner Coronado trucks produced between roughly 2008 and 2016. It covers components like the chassis, cab, suspension, steering, axles, brakes, HVAC, Eaton Fuller transmissions, and general electrical systems. It also includes procedures for engines like the Cummins ISX and Detroit Diesel DD15 — but mainly in terms of installation, external servicing (like belts), and related truck-side systems.
Now, here’s where it gets relevant for gliders:
Most 2017 Coronado glider kits were built using pre-emissions or EPA 2007/2010 engines (often refurbished Detroit Series 60 or older Cummins motors). Because of that, their chassis and drivetrain setups are usually based on pre-2016 Coronado designs — meaning this manual is still extremely useful.
That said, engine overhauls and internal repairs aren’t covered here — you'd want the OEM engine manual (Detroit or Cummins) for that part. But for everything else truck-related? You’ll find the procedures you need.
So yes — if your 2017 glider has a traditional Coronado layout and uses one of the common pre-emissions engines, this manual absolutely applies and should be a solid match for your needs.
