Hmm, if the seatbacks on your XK aren’t folding forward electrically, it's probably not something you can just reprogram. These things usually run off little motors inside the seat, and if they’ve stopped working, it's often one of a few things — blown fuse, tired motor, bad switch, or maybe the wiring’s come loose under the seat (which happens more than you’d think).
Jag did make a lot of these seat functions pretty modular, but this one isn’t really a software thing — not like you can just plug in a scanner and turn it back on. You’ll likely need to pop the seat trim and do a bit of poking around.
That said, the repair manual includes the entire layout, covering wiring, fuse locations, motor access, and everything else. Super helpful if you’re chasing down a fault like this. Better than guessing and pulling things apart blind.
