Sounds like you’ve got a classic case of a body control module (BCM) or electrical grounding issue. When you’ve got flashing interior and exterior lights, the passenger door light staying on, dinging sounds like the door is open, and HVAC not working from either side — it all points to either a bad signal from one of the door ajar sensors, or the BCM freaking out from a bad connection or short.
That constant red light and dinging usually means the passenger door switch thinks the door is still open, even if it’s closed. That alone can mess with your lights, interior functions, and even the HVAC logic, since the car doesn’t think it’s “ready.” In some cases, moisture or a short in the door wiring harness can throw everything off—especially if it started after heavy rain or washing the car.
If it were mine, I’d start by unplugging the passenger door harness at the hinge, inspect for corrosion or a broken wire, and check for water intrusion near the BCM under the dash. I'd also get the manual software to troubleshoot this issue further, as it covers the Edge's electrical system too.
Good luck!
