To adjust the headlights on your 2018–2020 Ford F-150 or Raptor, it's actually pretty simple — no special tools needed. There’s a vertical adjustment screw on the back of each headlight housing, usually accessible from above with a long Phillips screwdriver or 7mm socket, depending on trim.
Here’s the trick I often use:
- Park the truck on level ground facing a flat wall about 25 feet away.
- Measure from the ground to the center of your headlight lens.
- Mark that height on the wall with tape, then make a second mark about 2 inches lower — that’s where the top of your low beam cutoff should hit.
- Turn the adjuster screw clockwise to lower the beam or counterclockwise to raise it.
Note that Ford doesn’t include horizontal aim adjustments on most trims, so you’re mainly setting the height to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. In any case, the service manual includes this process along with beam pattern diagrams and factory specs if you want to be super precise.
Good luck!
