Alright, if you're doing a head gasket on a 2012 Peugeot 4007 diesel, you’re in for a bit of work, but it's totally doable if you take your time. The engine you have is supposedly the 2.2L HDi diesel, and the manual gives you the full breakdown: from getting the head off to torqueing it back down with the right sequence and specs.
First, you’ll need to pull the intake, exhaust manifold, fuel system components, timing belt, and probably the EGR gear to get clean access to the head. Once everything's stripped down, the head bolts come out (they're torque-to-yield, so you'll need new ones), and you can lift the head off. Make sure to label everything as you go. It’s tight in there and easy to mix up connectors.
Before putting the new gasket on, have the head checked for warping or cracks to ensure no damage from overheating. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly. Then it’s just about dropping the new gasket in place, refitting the head, and torquing everything back down in the proper sequence and with the right angles (the manual gives both).
Rebuild everything in reverse, re-time the engine carefully, bleed the fuel system, and refill the coolant. Start it up and keep an eye on temps and any pressure building in the cooling system to make sure the job sealed up properly.
Good luck!
