For the Arctic Cat 550, you’ll want to use 10W-40 fully synthetic or semi-synthetic 4-stroke ATV/UTV engine oil that’s wet clutch compatible, meaning it meets JASO MA or MA2 specs. That’s important because the engine and transmission share oil, and using the wrong type (like automotive oil with friction modifiers) can cause clutch slippage.
Arctic Cat branded oil is fine if you want OEM, but any quality brand like Amsoil, Rotella, or Mobil 1 10W-40 formulated for powersports will work just as well ✌🏻
