For the 2003–2011 9-3 with an automatic transmission, the correct fluid depends a bit on which gearbox you’ve got.
Most 5-speed Aisin Warner autos (which were common in these) take JWS 3309 spec fluid—same stuff used in a lot of Volvos and Toyotas from that era.
If you’ve got the 6-speed automatic (more common in later model years), that usually takes AW-1 fluid.
