There are a few common culprits when the convertible top won’t raise on the Murano Cross Cabriolet. First thing I’d check is whether you’re getting any warning lights or chimes when you hit the switch. That can point you in the right direction.
Most of the time, it's something simple like:
- The trunk partition isn’t in place. If the divider inside the trunk isn’t properly latched, the system will block the roof from operating.
- Low hydraulic fluid in the convertible top pump. If you hear the motor trying but nothing moves, the system might be low or have a leak.
- Faulty limit switch or sensor. These tops rely on a bunch of micro-switches to monitor position. If one goes bad or is out of alignment, it’ll stop the cycle completely.
- Battery voltage — if your battery is weak, the system might not have enough power to operate the hydraulic motor.
Also make sure the vehicle is in Park, and your foot is on the brake — the top won’t move unless those conditions are met. If you’re not getting any movement or noise at all, it could be a blown fuse, failed relay, or bad switch.
Luckily, the manual could help you track it down with wiring diagrams and diagnostic flowcharts. With the manufacturer's given troubleshooting charts, it'll be much easier for you to find the culprit here.
Good luck!
