Replacing the fuel injector harness on the 2011 4Runner isn’t too bad, but you’ll want to take your time, especially with all the connectors and routing.
First thing, disconnect the battery since you’re dealing with electrical components. Then, locate the fuel injector harness, which runs along the intake manifold and connects to each injector. Depending on the engine, you might need to remove the intake plenum to get full access.
Once you’ve got clearance, carefully unplug each injector connector — they usually have locking tabs, so don’t force them. The harness might be clipped onto the fuel rail or intake, so pop those clips loose before pulling it out. If there are any grounding points attached to the harness, note their locations for reinstallation.
When installing the new harness, route it exactly as the old one was to avoid clearance issues. Reconnect everything, secure the clips, and double-check the injector connectors — they should click firmly into place. Once it’s all back together, reconnect the battery and start the engine to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Of course, if you don't know what you're doing, I urge you to get the manual as it covers this repair job and will give you the step-by-step procedure. It's manufacturer's given torque specifications, clear images, and exploded-view illustrations should help you a lot in getting things done accurately here.
Good luck!
