Yeah, I’ve run into this before on these Arctic Cat 580 EFI sleds, and it’s usually one of three things: an air leak, a bad temp sensor, or fuel pressure issues.
First thing I’d check is for vacuum leaks. These older EFI systems are super sensitive to unmetered air. Look at the intake boots and crank seals for cracks or leaks. A quick way to check is spraying a little starting fluid around the intake while it’s idling. If the RPMs jump, you’ve got a leak.
Next, check the coolant temp sensor (ECT). If it’s failing, the ECU might think the engine is still cold and dump extra fuel, which can cause a high idle and then a sudden stall once it warms up.
Also, fuel pressure regulator — if it's sticking or the fuel pump is weak, it can start fine, run lean as it warms up, then die. If you’ve got access to a pressure tester, check to see if it’s holding steady.
If it starts up fine but always dies after exactly the same amount of time, it could also be a bad stator coil failing when it heats up.
I’d start with checking for air leaks first, as it’s the most common issue. But if you want to be sure, you can't go wrong with having the manual here. It has detailed troubleshooting charts and repair procedures to help you tackle issues like these.
Good luck!
