A common problem for Lexus cars, especially older models, is premature wear on suspension components, like control arm bushings and ball joints. This is more noticeable in heavier models like the RX and LS, where the weight puts extra strain on these parts over time.
Another issue I’ve seen is oil leaks from the timing cover or valve cover gaskets, particularly in the V6 engines. It’s not a huge deal if caught early, but it’s something to watch for. On some models, like the RX and ES, older infotainment systems can also act up or feel outdated compared to newer competitors.
That said, these are relatively minor issues compared to other brands. Lexus cars are generally very reliable and, with regular maintenance, will serve you well for years.
