The engines for Harley-Davidson snowmobiles were made by the Italian company Aermacchi. Back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Harley owned a stake in Aermacchi and used their 2-stroke engines in the snowmobiles they produced.
Harley’s snowmobiles were an interesting chapter in their history, but they didn’t stick around long. While the bikes thrived, the sleds didn’t quite take off in the same way. Still, if you ever come across one of these rare machines, it’s a cool piece of Harley-Davidson trivia!
