Changing the number plate is totally easy, and the process should be similar regardless the vehicle. If your i30 already has mounting holes, it’s as simple as lining up the plate and screwing it in. If the old screws are rusty or stripped, grab some stainless steel ones to avoid future headaches. Just don’t overtighten them, or you might crack the plastic.
If your car doesn’t have holes or a bracket, you’ve got two options — either drill new holes (not ideal unless you really have to) or go with strong double-sided automotive tape. I’ve used 3M VHB tape, and it holds up surprisingly well if you prep the surface properly. Just clean it with alcohol, press the plate on firmly, and let it set. No rattling, no fuss.
Personally, I like using a plate frame too — makes it look cleaner and stops the edges from bending over time. Either way, it's an easy job.
