To use cruise control on a VW Caddy, follow these simple steps:
-
Activate Cruise Control: Locate the cruise control switch on the steering wheel or the stalk. Switch it to the "ON" position.
-
Set Your Speed: Once you’ve reached your desired speed (usually above 25 mph), press the “SET” button or push the lever down to lock in that speed. Your Caddy will now maintain this speed without the need to press the accelerator.
-
Adjust Speed: To increase your cruising speed, push the lever or button labeled “+” or “RES” (resume). To decrease speed, press “-” or push the lever down.
-
Cancel or Disengage: To temporarily cancel cruise control, tap the brake or clutch pedal. You can also turn off the cruise control system entirely by pressing the “OFF” button or flipping the lever to the “OFF” position.
-
Resume Speed: If you’ve temporarily canceled cruise control (by braking or clutching), press the “RES” button or lift the lever up to return to the previously set speed.
Cruise control is a great feature for long highway drives, reducing the strain of maintaining a constant speed manually. Keep in mind that if you're working on cruise control-related repairs, such as fixing the stalk or buttons, having access to a detailed repair manual can be a real lifesaver, walking you through troubleshooting and repairs step-by-step.
