Surprisingly, the 1964 1/2 Mustang is not any rarer than its 1965 counterparts.
From March 1964 to August 1964, Ford produced an impressive 121,538 units of what are now referred to as 1964 1/2 Mustangs. This production number is quite high, especially considering it was only a 5-month production period.
However, being the first of the Ford Mustangs produced, these models are both rare and very popular in the sense that they represent a significant piece of automotive history. Models in good condition and restored are currently priced in a range from about $30,000 to $45,000.
So, while the '64 1/2 Mustang isn’t technically rarer in terms of production numbers, its status as the first block of Mustangs ever produced gives it a certain significance and desirability among collectors and enthusiasts.
