To change a backup bulb on a 2013 Chrysler 200, follow these steps:
- Open the trunk of the vehicle. Locate the trunk liner or carpeting near the area where the backup light is located.
- Remove any clips or fasteners holding the trunk liner in place. This will allow you to access the back of the tail light assembly.
- Once you have access to the back of the tail light assembly, locate the socket that holds the backup bulb. It will typically be a plastic socket connected to the wiring harness.
- Rotate the socket counterclockwise to remove it from the tail light assembly. Some sockets may have a locking tab that needs to be pressed or released before rotating.
- With the socket removed, you can now remove the old backup bulb. Gently pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
- Take the new backup bulb and insert it into the socket. Make sure it is properly seated and aligned.
- Reinsert the socket back into the tail light assembly. Rotate it clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Test the new backup bulb by turning on the vehicle's ignition and putting the transmission in reverse. Check if the new bulb illuminates correctly.
- Once you have confirmed that the new backup bulb is working properly, reattach the trunk liner or carpeting by securing the clips or fasteners.
- Close the trunk, and you're done!
