Unfortunately, it’s incredibly hard to troubleshoot issues online without being able to run tests of any sort — the brake switch or shift lock actuator, there might be a short-to-ground or open circuit condition, etc.
Luckily, you should be able to find every troubleshooting and replacement procedure you’ll need to find what’s causing the issue and fix it in this 2005-2009 Cadillac STS Service & Repair Manual.
