Unfortunately, the 4.2FSI V8 engine doesn't have timing marks — special tools are required to set the timing correctly (including the classic T40071 and T40079).
Luckily, you'll find everything you need to properly time your Q7 in this 2008 Audi Q7 Service & Repair Manual, including step-by-step instructions, clear images, exploded-view illustrations, and the exact part numbers of every special tool required.
