The TRAC system helps prevent the drive wheels from slipping when pressing the gas pedal excessively when starting off or accelerating on a slippery surface.
When the skid control ECU detects that a wheel is spinning using the signals sent by the wheel speed sensors (WSS), it will limit the engine torque and apply the brakes to stabilize the vehicle.
When it happens, you'll see the SLIP warning light start to blink. If it stays on, it means that something is wrong with the system and a Diagnostic Trouble Code has been recorded. Luckily, this 2007 Lexus ES350 Service & Repair Manual contains everything you'll need to fix your traction control (TRAC) system in no time.
